Tara Evans

Graduate Co-Teacher

Tara Evans joined the Dixons team in August 2017 after completing her Master’s degree at the University of York.  Tara graduated in 2016 from the University of Leeds with a first class honours degree in Linguistics and Phonetics.  Tara was a very active member of university life: playing in the orchestra; sitting on various society committees; and even cycling from Leeds to Paris for charity!

In her final year, Tara worked as a one-to-one tutor for a child with Special Educational Needs in a local primary school.  This sparked her interest in working in education.

Continuing her interest in academic research, Tara decided to further pursue her studies at the University of York where she achieved a distinction in her Master’s degree in Development, Disorders and Clinical Practice.  Alongside writing her Master’s dissertation researching phonics, Tara worked as a teaching assistant for a supply agency gaining experience in a wide variety of educational settings.

Tara’s aspiration is to become an influential and inspiring teacher; she is looking forward to her journey to achieving this with Dixons.
