Dixons Trinity Chapeltown go to China!

Posted 5th January 2026

As a school we are incredibly dedicated to providing students with opportunities to expand their horizons, and put them in the best position to thrive and climb their mountains. Allowing the students to learn not only in the classrooms, but in the outside world too, is essential when delivering the well rounded and culturally inclusive education that all of our students deserve. With this in mind, we are absolutely ecstatic to announce that two of our students will be travelling to China in March with Mrs. Plahe.

Almost a quarter of Year 10 students applied for the exciting opportunity to go as part of the Student Ambassador Programme. Run in partnership with the Hebei Provincial Association for UNESCO, the initiative aims to build international friendships and promote meaningful cultural understanding.

Following a competitive selection process, ten students were shortlisted for interview, with Alisha Menaal and Amy Soloman truly standing out. They have been awarded this life-changing opportunity, joining students from five other UK schools to visit schools across Qinhuangdao and Tangshan. During the trip, they will connect with Chinese peers through a vibrant and enriching programme of cultural exchange.

Beyond the classroom, they will also have the chance to explore some of China’s most iconic landmarks and fully immerse themselves in Chinese culture.

Well done, Alisha and Amy!
